I just wanted to say "Thank You" to St. Joseph Home Health & Hospice. For 15 years they stood by me. The came when I needed help taking care of my elderly, handicapped mother-in-law. They taught me signs and symptoms. They showed me better techniques for her personal care. They were respectful and knowledgeable. As my mother-in-law slowly grew worse, they stayed with me, even more, helping with catheters and easing my mind regarding heart and lung issues. They guided me through a transition to hospice continuing to allow me autonomy with her care.
I've included some pictures. Thanks to you, she was able to stay at home, enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and live a relatively normal life. The picture at the restaurant was taken on her 92 birthday just 3 days before she died. She was living life to the max being queen for a day and very happy. This would never have happened if you were not helping us. She would have had to be placed in a facility to care for her multiple health concerns.
Now, my mother-in-law is gone. But you've still shown me you care by sending me letters and inviting me to gatherings to celebrate her life. The biggest reason I'm writing this is to say "Thank you" for your example. I'm now in an RN program with a goal of being one of the home health nurses who were so good to my mother- in- law and me, to pass the goodness forward to others. I hope that I can be as helpful to others as you were to me.
