Our Priority is Patient Safety

Nothing is more important to us than ensuring the safety and well being of your loved one. In every encounter, our focus is on achieving the highest level of care while providing compassionate assistance and respecting the dignity of the individual.

One way we ensure quality care is through rigorous evaluations and accreditation. Because Private Duty is part of the St. Joseph Health Home Care Services, it is state-licensed and surveyed by the Joint Commission, which evaluates safety and provides guidelines to support the organization's ongoing improvement efforts.

We understand that the decision to welcome a caregiver into your home isn't easy. That is why we carefully screen and select trustworthy, licensed and bonded caregivers that meet the same high standards we require for the St. Joseph Health nurses and staff. Our selection and employment process includes:

  • A comprehensive, national background check
  • Drug screening and annual physical
  • In-depth orientation and training
  • Ongoing education and certifications, including CPR

Highly Skilled Care Team

Everyone on the Private Duty team has been chosen for their top-notch skills, along with their caring nature. Every caregiver who enters your home will be a licensed professional - whether it's an RN or LVN to tend to medical needs, or a CNA to assist with daily living activities.

Our team includes:

  • Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor - provides clinical oversight to clients and other team members, creates individualized care plans and reassess clients' needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) - provides skilled nursing care as needed.
  • Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) - assist with patients' daily living activities.
  • Sitters - assists patients at bedside in a Skilled Nursing Facility or hospital to provide peace of mind to the patient and family. They can assist with bathing, feeding and notifying the nurse when there is a change in the patient's condition or pain level.
