Provides education to physicians, inpatient staff and the community on palliative care, hospice services and end of life care. Qualifications: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN); Completion of all Nurse Practitioner program clinical requirements. Current CA RN license; Current CA Nurse Practitioner license; Current Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number issued by the California BRN; Current BLS card; CA drivers license and proof of current auto liability insurance. Minimum of 5 years current RN experience in an acute care or hospice setting or 2 years current experience as a certified Nurse Practitioner in a hospice setting, or an acute care setting providing palliative care or end of life care to patients/families; At least 2 years working collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team. Professional certification in hospice and palliative care preferred but not required.

Qualifications: Ability to work with a variety of healthcare professionals. Prior experience working with hospice patients or end-of-life patients. Good communication and interpersonal skills as appropriate. Knowledge of basic end-of-life issues as appropriate. Some Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and a good driving record, if travel is required to/from volunteer service other than the office setting.
